Pacific Islands Women in Leadership Program (WIL)

share

Through the Pacific Islands Women in Leadership (WIL) program (2013-2015), twenty female leaders from across the Pacific used peer-mentoring and active experimentation to bring about positive changes in their island societies. The two-year pilot program began and ended with intensive workshops, with eight months of applied leadership activities in between. The program offered participants extensive project development and leadership training, as well as individual and collective coaching. Seed funding enabled participants to test their ideas and visions, some of which have grown into sustained initiatives. The WIL program gave rise to the North Pacific Women's Action program, and also led to the incorporation of more active experimentation within other East-West Center leadership programs.
