Asia Matters for America

Originally launched in 2008, the Asia Matters for America/America Matters for Asia (AMA) initiative is the flagship project of the East-West Center in Washington (EWCW), focused on delivering visually easy-to-understand data, graphics, analysis, and information on the US-Indo-Pacific relationship at the national and sub-national levels. Used by policy makers, politicians, business leaders, academics, media, and the general public, the AMA initiative is a multi-activity, multi-faceted resource for nonpartisan, credible, and up-to-date information on diplomacy, policy, trade, investment, and educational and cultural exchanges between the US and the Indo-Pacific region.

Publications in this series feature information on diplomatic and security relationships, trade and investment, jobs creation, travel and tourism, educational exchanges, demographics, and sister partnerships between the US and partners across the Indo-Pacific. The AMA initiative has produced 15 publications on the US-Asia relationship, as well as over 1,100 articles, one-page US state and Congressional district connections summaries, and numerous graphics and special projects all available via the initiative's dedicated website: asiamattersforamerica.org.
