Program Summary
At its 20th anniversary of implementation, the East-West Center’s 2023 Senior Journalists Seminar will explore through a multi-faith relational lens the concepts, perceptions, influence, understanding, and engagement of religion in society.
In Washington DC, Hawaiʻi, Indonesia, and Thailand, the SJS23 cohort will explore the intersections of the personal / intimate and social-cultural, with government and law within various countries, cultures and faiths, including reproductive rights and responsibilities, facets of identity, culture, and belonging within LGBTQIA peoples communities and movements, and faith-based ecological values and actions regarding climate change and humanitarian crises.
