The East-West Center, with support from the US Embassy Delhi, facilitated an exchange between three Taiwanese and three Indian journalists in Washington, DC. The journalists met with expert speakers and had meetings with the US Department of State and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The goal of the program was to build connections across the Indo-Pacific, increase media focus on Indo-Pacific Region-wide developments; and increase a more nuanced coverage of Taiwan issues as they apply to India.
Some of the panel discussion topics included “India, Taiwan, and US on Critical and Emerging Technology” and “Economic Cooperation and Supply Chains with the India, Taiwan, US Trilateral relationship.” The exchange resulted in articles related to Taiwan-India cooperation in economic resiliency, clean energy, and emerging technology in Taiwanese and Indian press, and built connections for future reporting.
