Program

The first phase of the East-West Center's cross-border journalism programming began in 2015. Seven Pakistani and seven Indian news organizations were invited to send teams of print, broadcast, and digital journalists on ten-day reporting trips to their neighbor country. The 34 participating journalists then convened in November 2016 for a five-day capstone dialogue in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where the partner teams developed cross-border reporting projects to pursue in the coming year (2017).

The reporting trips resulted in more than 44 print and broadcast stories, as well as developing valuable professional and personal relationships between media professionals from the two countries.
