The Pacific Islands Development Program welcomes the inaugural cohort of the Resilient Pacific Islands Leaders (RPIL) Fellowship! Twenty-four fellows from 19 Pacific Islands Conference of Leaders (PICL) member countries, territories, and the State of Hawaiʻi are on a six-week leadership development program with a residency in Hawai’i and a field immersion in Washington DC.


The curriculum for these rising leaders is centered around areas of critical importance to humanity identified in the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Partnership and in alignment with the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent. The program strengthens participants’ knowledge and understanding of key regional economic, social, political, health, educational and environmental issues, and cultivate culturally sustaining leadership capacities.
