On November 22-23, 2021, the East-West Center in Washington & U.S. Consulate General Kolkata hosted the US Indo-Pacific Statecraft Matters for South and Southeast Asia (UMSS) Virtual Summit.

This US Indo-Pacific Statecraft Matters for South and Southeast Asia (UMSS) virtual summit imparted college & graduate students in the United States, South, & Southeast Asia with knowledge of the principles of US Indo-Pacific policy through an online virtual training toolkit created by the East-West Center in Washington, funded by the U.S. Consulate in Kolkata, and used as part of an extracurricular, prestige Indo-Pacific policy program. The goal of the event was for students to interact with each other and experts, using the skills and knowledge developed through taking part in classroom exercises.
