The East-West Center in Washington's congressional staff programs are bipartisan educational certificate programs that aim to equip congressional staffers with greater knowledge of US-Indo-Pacific policy in order to better understand America's role in and engagement with this dynamic region and the policy implications that will directly engage Congress.


Congressional Staff Program on Australia (CSPAUS)

This bipartisan educational certificate program aims to equip congressional staffers with the information and analyses necessary to appreciate the significance of Australia and the US relationship both to the Indo-Pacific region. By focusing on crucial forward-looking issues, CSPAUS is designed to provide staffers with a more comprehensive understanding of Australia and its significance to US Indo-Pacific policy. This program is in partnership with and sponsored by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute.


Congressional Staff Program on Korea (CSPK)

This bipartisan educational certificate program aims to equip congressional staffers with the information and analyses necessary to appreciate the significance of the Korean peninsula and the US role in the region. By focusing on crucial forward-looking issues, CSPK is designed to provide staffers with a more comprehensive understanding of Korea and its significance to US Indo-Pacific policy. This program is in partnership with, and sponsored by, the Korea Economic.


Congressional Staff Program on the Pacific (CSPP) 

This bipartisan educational certificate program aims to equip congressional staffers with the information and analyses necessary to appreciate the significance of the Pacific Islands and the US role in the region. By focusing on crucial forward-looking issues, CSPP is designed to provide staffers with a more comprehensive understanding of the region and its significance to US Indo-Pacific policy. This program follows the launch of The Pacific Islands Matter for America/America Matters for the Pacific Islands, sponsored by the US Department of the Interior's Office of Insular Affairs and with support from the Congressional Pacific Islands Caucus. 


Congressional Program On US-Japan Relations And The Indo-Pacific (CPUSJ) 

This bipartisan educational certificate program aims to equip congressional staffers with the information and analyses necessary to appreciate the role of Japan and the US-Japan alliance in US foreign policy in the Indo-Pacific, now and in the future. By also focusing on crucial forward-looking issues in US-Japan relations, CPUSJ is designed to provide staffers with a more comprehensive understanding of this relationship and its role in the region. 


Congressional Staff Program On Asia

This bipartisan educational certificate program provides Capitol Hill staff members with an opportunity to engage U.S. officials and leading experts on a range of contemporary, policy-relevant topics in U.S.-Indo-Pacific relations, and expand their network of congressional colleagues, officials, and experts.
