We invite the public to attend the East-West Center’s student-led International Graduate Student Conference (IGSC) Film screening and Talk Story session. The featured film This is the Way We Rise, directed by Ciara Lacy, depicts the movement to protect Mauna Kea, focusing on Dr. Osorio's creative process as it informs her work and role as kia'i (protector) of the mauna, while providing insights into how we can relate to the land and each other.    

Following the screening, there will be a Talk Story (45 min) with Dr. Jamaica Heolimeleikalani Osorio (featured in the film) and Director Ciara Lacy.
